The IDAutomation UPC/EAN Font Advantage Package is a professional, advanced font set with tools, macros, and source code that uses a single font file to create UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, EAN-14, JAN, ISBN, and Bookland bar codes. This package uses IDAutomation's patent pending font technology to produce extremely high quality barcodes, even on low resolution printers. It contains several font versions in many font formats, including TrueType, PostScript, OpenType, and PCL.
chessdgm.rb converts a standard chess postion file (in the "fen" format) into a word processor diagram. This is a rewrite in Ruby of a C program (chessdgm), with support for more fonts. The fonts have been included in the tarball with their documentation, and are free for non-commercial use, but not GPL.
This HOWTO explains how to extract embedded bitmaps (sbits) out of CJK TrueType fonts, generating high quality bit-mapped fonts for X11. Included are several encoding maps for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean encodings. Most CJK TrueType fonts include embedded bitmaps for 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 point sizes.
