gbdfed is a GTK+-based BDF font editor. Multiple fonts can be loaded from the command line. Multiple fonts can be open at the same time. Cutting and pasting glyphs between fonts, font name and property editing, and built-in online help. It imports PK/GF, HBF, PSF, CP, Linux FNT, VFONT, OpenType/TrueType, and some FON/FNT fonts. It can export PSF2 fonts.
ttmkfdir is a tool to create valid and complete fonts.dir files from TrueType fonts. It is very useful when you plan to use a TrueType enabled font server that is based on the X11R6 sample implementation (xfsft for instance). Great care has been taken to correctly identify the encodings that a given TrueType font supports.
Xcyr-fonts is a package of Cyrillic screen fonts for X, suitable for Belorussian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian (new and old orthography), Serbian, Ukrainian languages. They are encoded using a new map KOI8-C that coincides with the standard KOI8-(R,U) in the letters area but adds more Cyrillic letters (all of ISO8859-5 plus Yat', Fita, Izhitsa) and some typographic symbols (mostly from CP-1251). The font set is a fully compatible superset of the standard XFree86 Russian Cyrillic fonts, with numerous changes to improve quality.
