Vendetta Online is a multi-platform 3D space-combat MMO for Windows, Mac, Linux/32 and Linux/64. The game permits players to interact in a vast online galaxy; fighting, trading, and mining their way to success. A "twitch" type real-time combat model makes true player skill the deciding factor instead of character advancement. Aleph One is a 3D first-person shooter game based on the game Marathon 2 by Bungie Software. It is set in a Sci-Fi universe dominated by deviant computer AIs and features a well thought-out plot. Aleph One was originally a MacOS game, but a cross-platform version ("Aleph One/SDL") based on the Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL) library is currently under development which runs under Unix, BeOS, and Windows.
Nexuiz is a fast-paced, chaotic, and intense multiplayer first-person shooter game, focused on providing basic, old style deathmatch. It is extremely modder-friendly. Nexuiz is built on the power of the Darkplaces engine, which is a heavily modified version of the original Quake. Darkplaces features realtime lighting and stencil shadows, bumpmapping, gloss, bloom, and totally rewritten network code that supports up to 64 players on a single server.
The Interreality project is a collection of Open Source, Free Software projects based on the Virtual Object System (VOS) platform. The goal is to develop a free and open platform for multi-user 3D virtual reality games, applications, and interactive, collaborative 3D virtual spaces. VOS is a powerful and generic network object framework designed to support a variety of high-performance applications. It is the basis for Ter'Angreal, a general-purpose browser application for entering and participating in 3D worlds.
Doom was the classic 3D shoot'em'up game from id Software. PrBoom is a game engine for playing Doom levels, which runs on both Windows and Linux/Unix systems. It uses the SDL graphics library. PrBoom a very faithful Doom port, with great effort taken to be compatible with as many original Doom levels and demos as possible.
ZDoom is an enhanced port of the official DOOM source. It features support for all Hexen editing features (including ACS, hubs, etc.), support for most BOOM editing features, freelook, jumping, and translucency support, a Quake-style console, high screen resolutions, removal of the original DOOM's limits, support for many more music formats (including MOD, IT, XM, S3M, MIDI, MP3, and MUS), better mouse support, UDP networking, and more.
Duke Nukem Forever is part four in a series of PC games featuring Duke Nukem as the hero. Parts one (Duke Nukem) and two (Duke Nukem 2) were sidescrollers/platform games, and part three, Duke Nukem 3D, was an FPS. Duke Nukem 3D became one of the top-selling games of all time, and is a very important part of FPS gaming history; it is one of the few "legendary" titles, together with Quake and Doom. The game is one of the most sophisticated FPS games ever. It features everything the Unreal engine has, but also features things like LOD, skeletal animation, and motion capture, for an optimal playing experience.
UProxy is a proxy for UDP protocols. UProxy was initially designed to allow users to play Unreal Tournament matches over the Internet on computers sharing a dial up connection. It could also be used by any client-server application that uses the UDP protocol and doesn't require clients to bind a fixed port. UProxy should run under Windows, Linux, or any OS which supports BSD sockets.
