getmail is intended as a simple, secure, and reliable replacement for fetchmail. It retrieves email (either all messages, or only unread messages) from one or more POP3, SPDS, or IMAP4 servers (with or without SSL) for one or more email accounts, and reliably delivers into qmail-style Maildirs, mboxrd files, or through external MDAs (command deliveries) specified on a per-account basis. getmail also has excellent support for domain (multidrop) mailboxes, including delivering messages to different users or destinations based on the envelope recipient address.
SpamGAME is an email classifier based on the GA.M.E. (GAussian Mono-dimensional Environment) algorithm for text categorization. It takes an email message on standard input, does a statistical check against lists of "good" and "bad" words found in the past emails received by the user, and returns the email message adding the email header 'X-Spam: yes|no'. In addition, as prefiltering methods, it uses whitelist/blacklist address filtering.
Wumi is a sendmail milter using the py-milter. It rejects mail containing certain (configurable) attachment filenames (.exe, .pif, etc.) or containing a virus (checked by calling a single-user license command line scanner) by answering the SMTP DATA step with "554 5.7.1". This way, the mail server does not have to generate senseless bounces.
ClearOS is an integrated network server gateway solution for small and distributed organizations. The software provides all the necessary server tools to run an organization including email, anti-virus, anti-spam, file sharing, groupware, VPN, firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, content filtering, bandwidth management, multi-WAN, and more. Through the intuitive Web-based management console, an administrator can configure the server software along with integrated cloud-based services.
The milter module for Python provides a python interface to Sendmail's libmilter that exploits all its features. Milters can run on the same machine as sendmail, or another machine. The milter can even run with a different operating system or processor than sendmail. Sendmail talks to the milter via a local or internet socket, and keeps the milter informed of events as it processes a mail connection. At any point, the milter can cut the conversation short by telling sendmail to ACCEPT, REJECT, or DISCARD the message. After receiving a complete message from sendmail, the milter can again REJECT or DISCARD it, but it can also ACCEPT it with changes to the headers or body.
SAGATOR is an email antivirus/antispam gateway. It is an interface to any smtpd that runs an antivirus and/or spam checker. Its modular architecture can use any combination of antivirus/spam checkers according to configuration. It currently supports ClamAV, nod32d, AVG, Sophos, TrendMicro AV, Symantec AV, Spamassassin, bogofilter, and quickspamfilter. It has some internal checkers (string_scanner and regexp_scanner). It can parse MIME mail and decompress archives.
urlwatch is a script intended to help you watch URLs and get notified (via email) of any changes. The change notification will include the URL that has changed and a unified diff of what has changed. The script works out of a single directory, so there is no need to install anything. State files are kept in the same folder. The script supports stripping parts of a page that are always changing through the use of a filter hook function. It is typically run as a cronjob.
LEPL is a recursive descent parser library written in Python. It is based on parser combinator libraries popular in functional programming, but also exploits Python language features. Operators provide a friendly syntax, and the consistent use of generators supports full backtracking and resource management. Backtracking implies that a wide variety of grammars are supported; appropriate memoisation ensures that even left-recursive grammars terminate.
cats2procmailrc is a filter to generate a .procmailrc file from a much terser and friendlier file consisting mostly of single-line rules. These suffice to do the most common mail filing, making maintenance of a procmailrc very easy for someone with more than a few filing rules. Each rule normally names the folder, an optional subject tag, and the pattern. Raw procmail rules may also be included for those rare complex filings.
