Mutabor is a program that allows you to perform and compose microtonal music using a normal MIDI keybord and normal MIDI equipment. Its powerful description language is intended to allow permanent retunings and complex tuning logic. One application is just tuning. Mutabor has been used for this purpose to make available all pitches that can be reached by stacking perfect thirds and perfect fifths. The stable version 3.0x is available in German only and runs under Windows and Wine. The unstable branch can be accessed via CVS (but build bugs should be expected) or downloaded from the Berlios developer site.
As a plugin API, Frei0r's main emphasis is on simplicity, to round up the most common video effects into simple filters, sources, and mixers that can be controlled by parameters. Frei0r plugins can be shared by many host applications, avoiding duplicate efforts by different projects. Frei0r is not meant as a competing standard to more ambitious efforts trying to satisfy the needs of many different applications and more complex effects, as it doesn't provides things like an extensive parameter mechanism or event handling.
hermes is a generic, transparent and multi-platform anti-spam SMTP proxy that uses a combination of techniques (like greylisting, throttling, DNS white/blacklisting, SPF, etc.) to stop spam from reaching your mailbox. Many mailboxes see a 98% spam reduction with no false positives, as hermes is not filtering email based on content, but on strict adherence to the SMTP standards. It's also compatible with most SMTP extensions like STARTTLS (for SSL security) and SMTP-AUTH (for user authentication).
Imabluri takes a message from your SMTP server, runs virus and spam checks on it, and does some marking and logging. Afterwards, it hands the message over to your mailbox system or IMAP/POP3 server. A daemon approach minimizes the system load. A very small client program actually takes the mail from the SMTP server, writes it to your hard drive, and adds it to a MySQL database. The daemon is polled after the client stores the message, and tries to spawn a child process that does the actual checks. This project replaces vislog, which will no longer be mantained.
AXIGEN is a fast, reliable and secure mail server with an open architecture. It is designed for easy management and allows full control of the email traffic from a central Web/CLI admin module. AXIGEN provides ESMTP, IMAP, and POP3 services and has been tested with standard mail clients. A special Webmail module enables email access and delivery from Web browsers. During the evaluation period, users are provided with full technical support.
