CDfs is a file system for Linux systems that `exports' all tracks and boot images on a CD as normal files. These files can then be mounted (e.g. for ISO and boot images), copied, played (audio tracks), etc. The primary goal for developing this file system was to `unlock' information in old ISO sessions. The file system also allows you to access data on faulty multi session disks, e.g. disks with multiple single sessions instead of a multi session.

mkisofs is used for premastering iso9660 filesystems which are used on CDROMs. The output of mkisofs can then be sent to a CDROM writer with a utility such as cdrecord. It has support for many formats, including Rock Ridge, Joliet, and Apple HFS (beta).

FDMS-3 Ripper lets you select audio tracks from an FDMS-3 filesystem and rip them to WAV format on a Linux system. It has been tested using a standard external SCSI hard disk onto which music had been recorded from a Fostex FD-8 multitrack hard disk recorder.

MediaSort is a tool that automatically renames media files with metadata attributes. For example, you can sort your pictures by date, camera model, or other EXIF attributes, and your MP3s by author, album, or other ID3 tag values. MediaSort is also a "sorting" Ant FileMapper that can be used with any other Ant tasks to achieve more complex work.

MP3FS is a read-only FUSE filesystem that transcodes FLAC audio files to MP3 on the fly when opened and read. It is useful to enable the use of your FLAC collection with software and/or hardware that only understands MP3s. It is also a novel alternative to traditional MP3 encoder applications. Just use your favorite file browser to select the files you want encoded, and copy them somewhere.

fdmsfs is a FUSE filesystem which can read fostex FDMS-3 volumes. When mounted, the songs (programs) appear as directories and the tracks appear as WAVE files within those directories. This allows songs to be played or mixed-down directly off the disk (e.g. using Audacity). Supported devices: FD-4, FD-8, VF160, and D2424.
