SFT (Simple File Transfer) is a file transfer program, a bit like rcp. It is designed to simplify file transfers from one computer to an another when they are connected to the Internet. The person receiving the file has to run the program in server mode (-s), while the sender of the file has to run the program in client mode (-c), specifying the destination host IP and the file names. File integrity is checked by using checksums.
Dolda Connect is a modular P2P filesharing client built around the Direct Connect model. It supports most of the latest features of the DC protocol. It runs in client/server mode with a well defined protocol, allowing extensibility, flexibility, and multiple detachable user interfaces. It also has an optional multi-user mode.
NASLite is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) server operating system designed to transform a basic computer into a dedicated file server. Utilizing highly optimized versions of Samba, uCLibc, BusyBox, and various other Linux tools, it provides SMB/CIFS, FTP, or NFS filesystem support. It accommodates multiple client OSes: Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. NASLite offers SMART disk monitoring and large file support, and is incredibly easy to install and administer.
Oliver (formerly "WebShare") is a PHP-based FTP front-end, released under the GPL. It allows people to access files normally only available via FTP, effectively providing users with a complete Web-based file management system that, if SSL is enabled on the Web server, uses a single secure connection. This makes it far simpler to use through a firewall. At present, Oliver has only been tested with ProFTPd and PureFTPd but it should work with many others.
Event Horizon (EVH) is a Web-based application which facilitates the secure transfer of files. Originally designed to replace FTP transfers, EVH currently allows uploads via HTTP and can also handle files uploaded via FTP. All file uploads are assigned an expiration period, after which the file is permanently removed from the system. This allows for automatic cleanup as well, keeping the underlying filesystem in tip-top shape.
FileZ is a Web application intended to provide a way to upload and manage large files that you want to share. It allows you to upload files through an upload form for a defined period of download. Then you will be able to give a dedicated and crypted URL to your coworkers or friends to allow them to download your file during that period. FileZ supports a MySQL/LDAP/SSO-CAS authentication system for the uploaders. Downloaders are not authenticated but logged. FileZ has an admin backend to manage quotas, allowed disk space, and uploader's files.
