FileZ is a Web application intended to provide a way to upload and manage large files that you want to share. It allows you to upload files through an upload form for a defined period of download. Then you will be able to give a dedicated and crypted URL to your coworkers or friends to allow them to download your file during that period. FileZ supports a MySQL/LDAP/SSO-CAS authentication system for the uploaders. Downloaders are not authenticated but logged. FileZ has an admin backend to manage quotas, allowed disk space, and uploader's files.
Kangee is a personal on-demand fileserver that makes it possible to send files to your friends. Dragging a file into the Kangee window will generate a link, which can be sent to your friend, who may open it in a Web browser and download the file. It also supports an "Add Upload" feature, which generates a link that lets your friends send files to you. It uses UPnP, STUN, and a connection test Web service to set up incoming connections, and can generate QR codes from the links to uploads and downloads.
PerlShare is a DropBox drop-in to create your own private file sharing "cloud". It consists of two parts; a client and a server. The server part lets you configure a Linux machine to accept PerlShare clients. PerlShare behaves a lot like DropBox. On collisions, for example, it creates conflicted copies. The workhorse for synchronization is Unison, a very reliable piece of software from Pascal Bach.
uhub is a high performance peer-to-peer hub for the ADC network. Its low memory footprint allows it to handle several thousand users on high-end servers, or a small private hub on embedded hardware. It uses the ADC protocol, and is compatible with DC++, jUCy, and other ADC clients.
Nephthys provides a Web interface to create file-sharing "buckets", through which data can be shared. Nephthys handles the buckets in the local filesystem of the server. Access and data transfer is made via FTP and WebDAV. Nephthys itself does not provide the access protocol, but relies on well known projects like Apache HTTPD (WebDAV) and ProFTPD (FTP).
