CryptoHeaven offers secure email and online file sharing/storage. Its main features are secure and highly encrypted services such as group collaboration, file sharing, email, online storage, and instant messaging. It integrates multi-user based security into email, instant messaging, and file storage and sharing in one unique package. It provides real time communication for text and data transfers in a multi-user secure environment. The security and usability of CryptoHeaven is well-balanced; even the no-so-technically oriented computer users can enjoy this crypto product with very high level of encryption.
GNUnet is a peer-to-peer framework with focus on providing security. All peer-to-peer messages in the network are confidential and authenticated. The framework provides a transport abstraction layer and can currently encapsulate the network traffic in UDP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, or direct 802.11 (WLAN). GNUnet supports accounting to provide contributing nodes with better service. The services built on top of the framework include anonymous file sharing and a virtual network providing IPv4-IPv6 transition via protocol translation over the P2P network.
Crypt::IDA is a Perl module that implements Rabin's Information Dispersal Algorithm. This is what's known as a "threshold system": a secret is divided into n shares with the property that any k (the "quorum" or "threshold") of those shares (with k <= n) can be combined at a later time to reconstruct the secret. The algorithm should be cryptographically secure in the sense that if fewer shares than the quorum k are presented, no information about the secret is revealed. The module uses Math::FastGF2 to efficiently implement the algorithm, making it suitable for securely sharing and distributing even large files. The Crypt::IDA::ShareFile module implements a file format for creating, storing, and distributing shares created with Crypt::IDA.
MUTE File Sharing is an anonymous, decentralized search-and-download file sharing system. Several people have described MUTE as the "third generation file sharing network" (From Napster to Gnutella to MUTE, with each generation getting less centralized and more anonymous). MUTE uses algorithms inspired by ant behavior to route all messages, include file transfers, through a mesh network of neighbor connections.
JAFS is an FTP server with some unique features. It features easy management via an encrypted Web browser, external JRMP/IIOP consoles or SOAP, SFTP support, password encryption with SHA-256 or MD5, one-time password and miscellaneous IP blocking methods, firewall/NAT traversal via UPNP use, a DynDNS integrated client, customisation via upload/download filters and scripting capabilities, and network integration with NT users or RADIUS servers.
WASTE is a mesh-based workgroup tool that allows for encrypted, private communication between distant parties on the Internet, independent of local network organization. It is RSA secured, and has been heralded as the most secure P2P connection protocol currently in development. WASTE functions as a both a server and a client under *nix, Mac OS X, and Windows, as well as a server only mode under *nix and Windows.
