Crypt::IDA is a Perl module that implements Rabin's Information Dispersal Algorithm. This is what's known as a "threshold system": a secret is divided into n shares with the property that any k (the "quorum" or "threshold") of those shares (with k <= n) can be combined at a later time to reconstruct the secret. The algorithm should be cryptographically secure in the sense that if fewer shares than the quorum k are presented, no information about the secret is revealed. The module uses Math::FastGF2 to efficiently implement the algorithm, making it suitable for securely sharing and distributing even large files. The Crypt::IDA::ShareFile module implements a file format for creating, storing, and distributing shares created with Crypt::IDA.
F*EX (Frams' Fast File EXchange) is a Web based service for sending very big files from one person to another. The sender uploads the file to the F*EX server and the recipient automatically gets a notification email with a download URL. Files are automatically deleted after download or an expiration date. The recipient and sender only need an email program and a Web browser. Sending to multiple recipients needs storage on the server only once. In contrast with other file transfer services, it has no file size limits at all and comes with shell tools for scripting up/downloading.
Huntor is a full-featured command line Bittorrent client. It currently has no GUI. This client focuses on being run in the background, such as on servers. It is highly customizable. Its disk storage layout makes it easy to incrementally rsync the data to a different machine while downloading.
JeguePanel is a panel to provide easy management of GNU/Linux servers. It makes services configuration (email and samba) much more easy and efficient, and handles user and permissions management. It's integrated with monitoring tools and a lot of control programs like anti-virus, anti-spam, reports, etc. It has English, Portuguese, and Spanish translations. It can use OpenLDAP, PostgreSQL, or MySQL as a backend, and has full integration with Active Directory. It will show different interfaces to users based on permission levels.
The Virtual Data Center (VDC) is a digital library system "in a box" for numeric data. It provides a complete system for the management, dissemination, exchange, and citation of virtual collections of quantitative data. It provides everything necessary to maintain and disseminate an individual collection of research studies: including facilities for the storage, archiving, cataloging, translation, and dissemination of each collection. On-line analysis is provided, powered by the R Statistical environment.
