openPLM is a Web-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application. It provides a configuration management system that manages all kind of files and data as documents in a product structure. It supports documents, parts, BOMs, part-document links, electronic signatures for objects, revision management, check in and check out for all files, plain text search using the Xapian engine, navigation between objects using Graphviz, and user management that allows sponsorship, delegation, and rights. Plug-ins are available for Thunderbird, OpenOffice/LibreOffice, FreeCAD, and Gedit.

Proximate is a social peer-to-peer (P2P) application designed for local device to device networking. It provides social communities with several user functions: Messaging, file sharing, and message boards. The application is designed to be completely P2P, i.e. servers are not needed. It only assumes TCP/IP networking, which means that it works over wireless/wired links such as ad hoc WLAN and Ethernet LAN. The application is written in Python for GNU/Linux systems with a GTK+ GUI, Nokia N900 being the primary platform.

Forban works independently from the Internet and uses only the local area capabilities to announce, discover, search, or share files. Forban relies on HTTP and is opportunistic, meaning that it replicates any files of interest seen in its proximity. P6P is a decentralized public virtual network designed for traversing NAT. It's useful mainly for peer-to-peer applications that don't implement NAT traversal themselves. It uses an unrouted segment of IPv6 (Unique-local), so it doesn't collide with other networks. It does not implement any additional security.

BRisa is a framework written in Python that allows the creation of UPnP devices, focusing on Media Servers and Media Renderers. Regarding the Media Server reference implementation, it allows users to share and search content from UPnP A/V devices. It offers a plugin architecture enabling users to share their own content stored in multimedia portals, such as SHOUTcast, Flickr, and recently incorporated YouTube Videos. In addition, the framework also provides a very simple UPnP control point API, which is being used by the Canola Project.
