PerlShare is a DropBox drop-in to create your own private file sharing "cloud". It consists of two parts; a client and a server. The server part lets you configure a Linux machine to accept PerlShare clients. PerlShare behaves a lot like DropBox. On collisions, for example, it creates conflicted copies. The workhorse for synchronization is Unison, a very reliable piece of software from Pascal Bach.
PeerProject is a versatile peer-to-peer filesharing client and file manager. It's intuitive and aesthetic while supporting many networks and features, including BitTorrent, G2, Gnutella, eDonkey, DC++, IRC, HTTP/FTP, and more. It's a mainstream fork of Shareaza p2p, for Windows and WINE.
Coquelicot is a “one-click” file sharing Web application with a focus on protecting users’ privacy. Its basic principle is that users can upload a file to the server, and in return they get a unique URL which can be shared with others in order to download the file. Coquelicot aims to protect, to some extent, users and system administrators from disclosure of the files exchanged from passive and not-so-active attackers.
Collax V-Family is a management suite based on a 64bit Linux system and KVM to provide server virtualization. It offers solutions for single virtualization hosts, as well as high availability management on two or more nodes, allowing embedded HA storage using DRBD and iSCSI. By using live snapshots, automatic live migration, and incremental backups, the availability of virtual machines is increased tremendously in case of hardware and software maintenance or even hardware failures. Virtual network switches and the protocols GVRP, LLDP, and RSTP help to set up a virtual DMZ.
Datum is a Web application which shares data from databases and information related to these databases. The core of the software provides user management and permissions, news, file sharing, visualisation of the database schema through WWWSQLDesigner, data reports with charts, dynamic charts, an asynchronous daemon, internationalization, a help system, database management with optimization and triggers, and user history. Modules can be added to add special functionalities or interfaces for a database.
Proximate is a social peer-to-peer (P2P) application designed for local device to device networking. It provides social communities with several user functions: Messaging, file sharing, and message boards. The application is designed to be completely P2P, i.e. servers are not needed. It only assumes TCP/IP networking, which means that it works over wireless/wired links such as ad hoc WLAN and Ethernet LAN. The application is written in Python for GNU/Linux systems with a GTK+ GUI, Nokia N900 being the primary platform.
Image Tools is a screen capture and file sharing tool. It features multi-threaded batch image resizing, conversion, cropping, flipping/rotating, watermarks, decolorizing (grayscale, negative, sepia), and optimizing. The BMP, GIF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and EMF image types are supported. It is compatible with MONO (only for GNOME). Multicore processing is supported to increase performance. The quality for output when optimizing is variable. Color channels can be filtered. An internal benchmarking tool is available. Indexed pixel format images can be processed.
