Infra Red (IR) File Chooser is a remote-controlled menu for selecting files and loading them by an assigned program. You can add as many filetypes and associated programs as you wish. The functionality of Infra Red (IR) File Chooser may be extended using Perl or Shell scripts. The GUI was created with Perl::GTK and it uses RCU::Lirc to fetch the remote controller commands.
ThreeDFM is a 3D file manager that uses OpenGL. Currently, only file system browsing is implemented. The main reason for this project is that using a 2D file manager is slow. More information about files can be conveyed in 3 dimensions. Not only will you be able to see the file's properties, but you will quickly be able to see a particular file's relationship to the others in the surrounding directories. A simple example of this is the file's size, as this can be shown by the size or colour of its representation. It will also be possible to view the contents of multiple directories simultaneously as they stretch off into the distance.
@1 Table Publisher allows you to create, edit, and display Microsoft Excel or Access tables directly via a Web browser. It allows you to create tables from scratch, import MS-Excel/Access tables, or use existing data files on servers. It has support for master login and sub-user login. It also allows two-way import/export to/from MS-Excel/Access data files.
FAM, the File Alteration Monitor, provides an API which applications can use to be notified when specific files or directories are changed. It comes in two parts: fam, the daemon which listens for requests and delivers notification, and libfam, a library which client applications can use to communicate with fam.
Uncle Unc is a framework for working with trees of objects. Existing services such as filesystems, code libraries, networks, log files, mailboxes and directories can be mapped onto this object tree, as can some traditional desktop applications. User interfaces work directly with the object tree, offering best of breed interface design (e.g. filtering, breadcrumb bars, paging, sorting, and file-explorer-like views) across the full range of services. The framework promotes clean design, completeness of representation, and reusability of both front end and back end code.
