muCommander is a cross-platform file manager with a dual-pane interface that features support for FTP, SFTP, SMB, NFS, HTTP, Amazon S3, Hadoop HDFS, Bonjour/Zeroconf, email attachments, archives in many formats (including Zip, RAR, 7z, GZip, Tar, Bzip2, ISO, NRG, AR, Deb, and LST), bookmarks, credential management, themes, multiple windows, full keyboard control, and many configuration options. File Commander is a text mode file manager and shell in the style of Norton Commander. It allows you to locate, copy, move, delete, view, edit, and execute your files. Puggle is a desktop search engine that provides full text search over files, folders, music, photos, Web pages, and other data that are stored locally on your computer. Puggle is able to create many different indices, each with a different configuration. For example, you may have a different index for your music collection as well as your documents. Each of them can be used on demand, simply by loading it. Furthermore, Puggle supports indexing of portable devices, like USB flash drives or external hard disks. The index will be stored in the device, using relative paths, allowing you to search over the data very quickly on any computer.
Ranger is a file manager with an ncurses interface. It is designed to give you a broader overview of the file system by displaying previews and backviews, dividing the screen into several columns. The keybindings are similar to those of other console programs like vim, mutt, or ncmpcpp, so the usage will be intuitive and efficient.
