Packer is a program that automatically generates high-quality packages from the input of the user. Unlike similar programs, the packages that packer makes are of a similar quality to those that are hand-crafted, as packer packages include dependencies and categories. Currently, packer can generate RPMs (for either SuSE, Mandriva, or Redhat/Fedora), Debian packages, Slackware packages, and Autopackage distribution-independent installers.

parkverbot is a daemon that prevents hard disk head parking in rotational media. Modern rotational hard disks have a misfeature involving the regular automatic unloading of the heads, measurable by the SMART attribute "Load_Cycle_Count". This causes latency on wake-up amongst other issues (and it cannot always be turned off). The parkverbot daemon will periodically issue small read requests in order to keep the hardware from going to its head-unloaded idle state.
PascalSCADA is a framework for Delphi and Lazarus to quick development of HMI/SCADA applications. The platforms supported by PascalSCADA are Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD under 32 and 64 bits (FreeBSD only in 32 bits). You can communicate with CLP's, create interfaces, store values and alarms of process, and control users of the application.
Passwd_exp notifies users via email of upcoming password or account expiration. Its simple modular architecture allows you to perform expiration checks on any data source you use (SQL databases, LDAP...), send expiration warnings only to desired users or group and on selected days only. Administrators can use it to review expired accounts in the system. Support for Linux and Solaris shadow (including LDAP and NIS systems) and BSD passwd systems is included.
The pbs_python package is a wrapper class for the Torque Batch System C library. With this package, you now can write utilities and extensions in Python instead of C. This package was developed to replace xpbsmon by an ASCII version named pbsmon. PBSQuery is also included in this package. This is a Python module built on top of the pbs Python module to simplify querying the batch server. There are a lot of examples included in the source package.
