PyBit is a small application written in wxPython for shortening URLs using some of the best shortening engines like: bit.ly, is.gd, cli.gs, smsh.me, tr.im and posting status updates to Twitter or identi.ca. It tries to be as simple and as user-friendly as possible. Configuration uses a simple preferences dialog, and all the buttons and text are bigger. All passwords (for twitter and identi.ca) are stored in plain text, so it’s currently not secure. Under GNOME, pyBit stores the shortened URL directly to your clipboard, so you don’t have to select and copy the short URL.
pyFlashCards is a wxPython-based application for creating and studying flash cards. Its main features are the Leitner algorithm for repeating cards, HTML tags, images, and Unicode characters inside cards. These features allow you to study any language, use special characters, and highlight important concepts with colors and different font effects. The Leitner algorithm maximizes long term memory retention.
pyRacerz is a multiplayer top view 2D racing game. It features multiplayer (on the same computer), tournaments, high scores, replays, 6 tracks (really 12, because each track can be used Normal or Reverse), 9 cars, a basic robot player, 3 different levels of difficulty, and a music player (it can play the .ogg files locating in the musics directory).
pyReScene is a tool that recreates original RARs by backing up the metadata. It is a port of ReScene .NET to Python. It provides a mechanism for backing up and restoring the metadata from "scene" released RAR files. RAR archive volumes are rebuilt using the stored metadata in the SRR file and the files extracted from the RAR archive. pyReScene consists of multiple related tools: pyReScene Auto to create a complete SRR with one simple command, pyReSample to recreate sample files, and pyReScene Usenet to create SRR files on the fly from Usenet postings. Lots of other small scripts for managing SRR and SRS files are available too.
