NiX Brute Forcer is a tool that uses brute force in parallel to log into a system without having authentication credentials beforehand. This tool is intended to demonstrate the importance of choosing strong passwords. NiX supports a variety of services that allow remote authentication, such as HTTP(S) BASIC/FORM, MySQL, SSH, and FTP. It is based on NiX Proxy Checker.

The gameplay consists of researching and developing new technology with which to conquer your enemies, from rocks and sticks to nuclear weapons and spaceships. You can advance through ten different ages, from the stone age to the future. There are 28 different maps to play through. The game is still under development, but is entirely playable in its current state.
TeachToPod is a set of shell scripts for ripping DVDs from The Teaching Company to produce either video files (m4v) or audio files (mp3) for playback on an iPod. Metadata such as lecture titles are automatically scraped from the Web and added to the output files. Operation of the scripts is almost automatic, and from the operator's viewpoint requires merely physical insertion and removal of the DVDs. Presently, the scripts are optimized for iPod Classic and have only been tested on Ubuntu 10.10.
