is_email() is a PHP function that checks the validity of an email address. It tests whether the given address conforms to the followings RFCs: 5321, 5322, 4291, 2821, 2822, 3696, and 1123 (section 2.1).

Mail2Web is a gateway between email and Web service for places where no direct Internet connection is available, but email can be used. This script can be installed in the .forward file of an email-enabled Unix account and will then translate simple email commands into Web page fetches. EasyPhpMassEmail is a PHP class that is intended for Web sites that need a simple solution for sending many email messages and do not have access to the PEAR packages for sending mass emails. The EasyPhpMassEmail class sends the email messages in batches and relies on an email queue page that reloads after each batch. By doing so, it is possible to send a large number of emails without problems using the mail() function and have a progress indication at the same time. The example files in the package demonstrate the use of the class.
