Smarty is a template engine for PHP, facilitating the separation of presentation (HTML/CSS) from application logic. This implies that PHP code is application logic, and is separated from the presentation. The Smarty design was largely driven by these goals: clean separation of presentation from application code; a PHP backend and Smarty template frontend; compliment PHP, not replace it; fast development/deployment for programmers and designers; quick and easy to maintain; a syntax that is easy to understand, with no PHP knowledge required; flexibility for custom development; and security (insulation from PHP).
Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware is a full-featured, Web-based, multilingual, tightly integrated, all-in-one wiki, CMS, and groupware. Tiki can be used to create all kinds of Web applications, sites, portals, knowledge bases, intranets, and extranets. Tiki offers a very large number of features "out-of-the-box". It is highly configurable and modular. All features are optional and administered via a Web-based interface. Major features include a robust wiki engine, news articles, discussion forums, newsletters, blogs, file and image galleries, bug and issue trackers, a link directory, polls/surveys and quizzes, FAQs, a banner management system, calendar, maps, mobile access, RSS feeds, a category system, tags, an advanced themeing engine (Smarty), spreadsheet, live support, shoutbox, inter-user messaging, menu generator, advanced permission system for users and groups, internal search engine, external authentication support, and more. It was formerly named TikiWiki.
IAM backup is package made of two classes. One performs the backup of the selected MySQL database, and the second restores the database. Both classes support GZIP-compressed files for improved performance. When performing the backup, the user is prompted to download the backup file, straight from the browser. Alternately, the backup can be stored on the local server at a predefined location. Restoring the database (or copying it to another server) is just as easy.
WIKINDX is a single or multi-user research environment for storing searchable bibliographies, notes, and citations. It is integrated with a WYSIWYG word processor for the authoring of publication-ready articles automatically formatted to chosen citation styles. The system includes support for migrating to and from BibTeX and Endnote.
DBLIB is a PHP library to create WWW interfaces to databases. Its main aim is to support creating interfaces for site administrators, but it can be used as well to create public end-user interfaces. It features over 15 widget types (text, numbers, datetime, password, reference to another table, etc.), automatic data conversion and escaping, automatic input checking in all fields, an abstract data layer that supports several SQL databases, LDAP, and text/dbm files. DBLIB is not a low-level database manager like PHPMyAdmin.
