You can create new or implement it into existing applications in no time; you don't need knowledge about network connections, sockets, etc. The Framework does almost everything automatically. It provides secure automatic client <-> server communications, unique IDs, automatic resending of jobs to new clients if needed, user stats, and much more. The client framework supports the detection of the computer's user state (idling, away, online, etc.). Scenic is a free software suite for streaming audio, video, and MIDI between live events. It was created at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) to give artists a powerful tool for telepresence in live arts contexts, and new media installations. The streaming is done over RTP with the GStreamer multimedia framework. Users can also choose low-bandwidth or high-quality codecs, depending on what is available on their system. It offers up to as many audio channels as your audio device supports. It consists of a desktop application and several command-line utilities: scenic (a Desktop application to stream audio, video, and MIDI over RTP); milhouse (streams audio and video over RTP); midistream (streams MIDI notes and controls over RTP); dc-ctl (controls connected DC IEEE 1394 cameras); firereset (resets an IEEE 1394 bus to help in case of problems); and jack-info (prints information about running JACK servers).
OwfsWeather is a package that scans and logs weather data from various One-Wire weather sensors. It uses OWFS, the One Wire File System, to communicate with the sensors. It currently supports logging of weather data to Weather Underground, a CSV file, and to an RRD database. Current hardware supported is the WSI-601 weather station from AAG, a DS1820 temperature sensor, and the humidity and barometric pressure modules from Hobby Boards.
Polypy is a small program to analyze rings in structures read from xyz files. This can be used, for example, to identify defects in crystal structures. The program was initially developed to analyze graphitic carbon structures, but can be used for any other structure. It includes: ring search using Franzblau statistics [Phys. Rev. B 44, 4925]; output structures marked by ring size, which can used for visualization in a program such as VMD; and extensive output with which atoms are in which ring and the neighbors of each atom.
