Babylon Java Chat is a client and server combo that allows groups to chat and draw over any TCP/IP connection. The client can be run either as a standalone Java application or as an applet launched from a WWW document. It features public and private chatting and drawing, email, file transfers, chat rooms, instant and answering-machine style messaging, and console paging. The drawing canvas enables users to draw freehand, or to create lines, rectangles, ovals, or fonted text, or to paste images from files.
Basic Broadcaster (bb) allows you to transfer text messages simply from one computer to another on a LAN. The messages are broadcast in the LAN and and can be received by each machine running bb. No setup is required other than starting the application. The messages are transmitted as plain text, and no encryption is done. The broadcasts can only be sent to machines on the same subnet as the sending machine, and will not be forwarded by routers to the Internet.
Beem is an XMPP (Jabber) client for Android. Beem is compatible with any standard XMPP server or service (including Ejabberd, Openfire, Facebook, or Gmail). It supports SASL, proxying (Socks4, Socks5, HTTP), DNS SRV, and chatting with a specific resource. Beem is available on the Android market and on the software's own Web site.
The Eggdrop Jabber Bot bridges your Eggdrop IRC bot to the Jabber instant messaging network and thus to ICQ. This code is meant to be a demo that it can be done, and a basic starting point which you can extend to your needs. The only functionality currently included is an invite feature.
GNU Gadu 2 is a modular instant messaging client with a GUI written in GTK2. It currently supports Gadu-Gadu, Tlen.pl, and Jabber. It is able to load Perl scripts, dock in several window managers, play sounds, talk to other programs via a UNIX socket, send SMS messages to Polish GSM operators, automatically check for updates, and use XOSD for displaying notices.
GYach Enhanced is a feature-rich, improved version of the original Gyach. It is the first Yahoo! client for Linux with voice chat capabilities. It offers almost all of the features you would expect to find in the official Windows Yahoo! client. The program offers support for chat, conferences, buddy lists, and My Yahoo content. In addition, Gyach Enhanced offers many features not available in the official Yahoo! clients for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Webcam support is under development and planned for the future. Unlike the original Gyach, GYach Enhanced is designed for Linux only.
Gnome 2 Mtel is a small tool that allows you to send SMS to friends who are customers of Mtel. It includes the ability to store and organize friends in a phonebook, to send single message to many phones, to import keywords in the message body, to split long messages automatically, and to use a separate connection for each message.
IM-Filter is a daemon that runs on a firewall and filters ICQ traffic. The daemon can identify file transfers, handle UIN and word blacklists, manage a list with currently logged in users, and log messages sent via the ICQ protocol. The modular design allows implementation of other protocols like MSN or IRC.
