Backshift is a deduplicating (variable-sized, content-based blocks), compressing (xz or bz2) backup program. Full saves and incrementals are pretty indistinct other than the amount of data transmitted, somewhat like with "rsync --link-dest" but without the huge number of hardlinks. It also de-duplicates large file content at a granularity of about 2 megabytes on average; there tends to be a unique copy of each file with size less than around 2 megabytes on average.
Calcurse is a text-based calendar and scheduling application. It helps keep track of events, appointments, and everyday tasks. A configurable notification system reminds the user of upcoming deadlines, and the curses based interface can be customized to suit user needs. All of the commands are documented within an online help system.
The Cursed MIDI Sequencer is a console-based MIDI recording and arrangement application for Linux and Windows using the ncurses library. It can be controlled via cursor navigation, pull-down menus, keyboard shortcuts, or via a MIDI instrument using accord commands. The musician, visually impaired or not, can arrange his music without ever taking his hands off the instrument.
Enblend is a postprocessing tool for creating panoramic images. After you align image features using a program like Hugin, there are often photometric problems that lead to ugly seams in the final composite. Enblend blends away these seams using a multiresolution spline. This technique gives good results on both low spatial frequency objects (sky and clouds) and high spatial frequency objects (trees and houses).
FCKosc puts a WYSIWYG HTML editor into OsCommerce's admin section in product descriptions, newsletters, and the main page. FCKosc is built on FCKeditor. This editor will work in IE 5.5+, Firefox 1.0+, Mozilla 1.3+, and Netscape 7+. FCKosc requires no changes to OsCommerce's database. Minimal changes were made to the files, which helps reduce the posibility of conflicts with other additions. FCKosc is easy to upgrade as new versions are released.
Gnasher alleviates developers from having to execute maven builds with the "-o" option (offline) to avoid accessing external repositories' metadata files. The SHA1 hash files and the missing pom metadata files for dependencies are created if they are missing. The next time the build is run, external repositories are not accessed and the build runs faster.
KJam is a very fast build tool. It is a make replacement, and uses a syntax similar to Jam, but is much more powerful than the original. It has built-in dependency scanning, per-target viewpathing, C-like control flow, and a built-in sh-like shell. It is optimized for multi-processor machines. It can accelerate software builds by launching build actions on a distributed peer to peer network of build servers. It is designed to support large projects with thousands of targets, or projects requiring building on many target architectures.
LBackup is a simple backup system aimed at systems administrators who require reliable backups with minimum fuss. It is configured with configuration files, and the backup is started from the command line. It has been tested for over 10 years. Backups can be to local media, or to remote media via one or more networks. The networks may be private LANs, WANs, or sets of untrusted public networks such as the Internet.
