GnuPoc enables the development EPOC applications using alternative operating systems like Linux and other Unices. The following SDKs have been ported to GnuPoc: ER5 (Psion Series5, Psion netbook, etc.), Quartz 6.0, Crystal 6.0 (Nokia 9210, 9290), and Nokia Series 60 (Nokia 7650, etc.).
Real-Time Control Systems Library contains a mix of software found to be useful in the development of real-time control systems at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. It includes the Neutral Messaging Language (NML), which is used for simple configurable communications for both Java and C++ applications on a variety of operating systems. The source is well documented and contains portability layers for additional operating systems, cipher suites, and cryptography providers.
db.* is a database management system (DBMS) designed to provide powerful, flexible, high-performance capabilities for developing embedded database applications. By combining the network and relational model technologies in a single system, it lets you organize and access information efficiently, regardless of the complexity of the data. The database has a very small footprint and because it is possible to use the network model to store some of the data, it can be very fast. It is also well-documented and quite simple to learn because of its C-based API.
nMicrocoder is an ncurses EDA tool to write microcode. Basically, it is a stripped down spreadsheet program that lets you fill a table with "0", "1", and "-", and gives you compile-ready verilog code in return. It was written as an alternative to full spreadsheet programs. It is known to run on Linux, IRIX, and Solaris, unless ncurses 5.3 is installed.
The POCO C++ Libraries are a collection of class libraries for developing network-centric, portable applications in C++. The classes integrate perfectly with the C++ Standard Library and cover functionality like threads, thread synchronization, filesystem access, streams, shared libraries and class loading, sockets and network protocols (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, etc.), including an HTTP server, as well as an XML parser with SAX2 and DOM interfaces and SQL database access.
Neko is a high-level dynamically typed programming language. It can be used as an embedded scripting language. It has been designed to provide a common runtime for several different languages. Learning and using Neko is very easy. You can easily extend the language with C libraries. You can also write generators from your own language to Neko and then use the Neko Runtime to compile, run, and access existing libraries. Neko is a good way for language designers to focus on design and reuse a fast and well-designed runtime, as well as existing libraries for accessing filesystem, network, databases, XML, etc. It has a compiler and a virtual machine. The virtual machine is very lightweight and well optimized. The VM can be easily embedded into any application, and your libraries can be accessed using the C foreign function interface.
FLASH-PLAICE is a powerful in-circuit development tool that combines the features of a flash programmer, an emulator, and a high speed multi-channel logic analyzer into one device. It runs uClinux. The logic analyzer features up to 200MHz sampling rates and up to 32 input channels. The logic analyzer Java client features support for up to 200MHz sampling rates, user controlled filtering operations, time line in diagram, metadata (size, rate, and trigger position) stored in files, an ID command for device identification, configurable serial port transfer rate, user configurable drawing modes (logic level, hex value, and scope), and Java client access via almost any PC with a serial port. The Java client uses the RXTX serial library with support for 34 platforms including Linux, Windows, and Solaris. Java client plugins include an SPI and I2C bus protocol analyzer, timing analysis to state analysis conversion, and post-processing functions.
