Akeni Instant Messaging Server Pro is a client/server instant messaging platform that allows companies to host their own secured private IM system. The client has an user interface similar to AIM, ICQ, or MSN Messenger. It supports all the standard IM features such as chat, group conference, presence management, file transfer, offline messages, and emergency alert/notification. Extra features include contact management and optional tabbed chat sessions. The server has advanced administration tools for managing user accounts, client-side logging capabilities, and peer-to-peer file transfers. It can be set up on a private network without connecting to the Internet, and can easily be set up for use inside and outside of the company firewall.

AddressBook X LDAP provides a shared addressbook on your local network, without the burden of subscriptions. It is an iSync enabled application which transfers contacts from the AddressBook to a central LDAP directory. It also provides the ability to browse and search the directory. Multiple schema mappings are available and can be customized and extended to address individual needs. Currently, ABxLDAP Person (an extension to InetOrgPerson) is fully supported, but the Mozilla Schema and the basic InetOrgPerson are in development. Support for Active Directory is included as well.

The originating IP address for the inbound connection is then checked against one of the DNS-based SPAM Blackhole (DNSBL) lists maintained on the Internet by various organizations. If the check passes, the connection is allowed to proceed to your mail server; if it fails, the connection is told that the mail server is unavailable, then dropped.
