EasyPhpMassEmail is a PHP class that is intended for Web sites that need a simple solution for sending many email messages and do not have access to the PEAR packages for sending mass emails. The EasyPhpMassEmail class sends the email messages in batches and relies on an email queue page that reloads after each batch. By doing so, it is possible to send a large number of emails without problems using the mail() function and have a progress indication at the same time. The example files in the package demonstrate the use of the class.
Email Address Validator is a PHP class that allows the developer to validate email addresses according to the RFC 5321 or RFC 5322 standards. It can also check to see if the domain can be resolved to MX RRs. Acceptable local-parts include dot-atom, quoted string, and obsolete. Acceptable domains include domain name, IPv4 address, IPv6 address, and IPv4-mapped IPv6 address. Folding white spaces and nested comments are also supported.
MailChariot's only mission is to get your incoming email (for example from /var/spool/mail), filter it through a spam filter, and put it into a spam or ham mailbox. If you don't agree with the spam filter's decision, you can move it to the notspam or notham mailbox and MailChariot will mark the message as ham or spam respectively. This design is mail client agnostic. It is ideal for use on shared hosts where the provided spam filtering is not effective enough.
BaGoMa backs up and restores the contents of a GMail account. It can restore all the labels (folder structure), as well as the flags (seen/read, flagged) of a message. It supports the use of any character in labels, including non-ASCII characters and "/" (the label hierarchy delimiter). BaGoMa is tuned to work specifically with GMail. Each message is only downloaded and saved once. Backup solutions that are designed to work with regular IMAP accounts will download each message multiple times (once per label) when used to back up a GMail account. This can significantly increase the bandwidth requirements and the amount of storage required for backup. Additionally, a faithful restoration of your GMail account might not be possible from such a backup.
blists is a Web interface to mailing list archives. It works off indexed mbox files. It includes two programs: bindex and bit. bindex generates or updates the index file (incremental updates are supported). bit is a CGI/SSI program that generates Web pages on the fly. Both programs are written in C and are very fast.
