piler is an email archiving application with all the features required for an average company. The most prominent features are full text searching, deduplication, compression, encryption, digital fingerprinting, policy rules, access control, a built-in SMTP server, and Active Directory/openldap support.
Korallenriff is a program that collects input from different network sources and stores their data into one database. For example, it can receive POP3 mail or can fetch NNTP groups and store the received messages in a database. One can then, for example, use the database data within a Web site to display the latest postings of a newsgroup or to create an online mailing list archive. Another possible use would be to build a blogging-software where one can post via email.
Kom stands for "Keep old mails". It imports email messages into a MySQL database, and provides a frontend in GTK 2 to search and browse the archived messages. Some options can be used to incrementally import email (per month, for example). The strength of eligante lies in the ability to tie all the various accounts your friends may have into a single virtual account. In this way, you can see all the conversations you had with someone, independently of where the conversation took place.

Just click on the Store Email in Database button and MailSteward will go to work storing copies of all your email, both text and HTML versions, and attachments, into a relational database file. You can then retrieve email and attachments from the database by searching on Date, From, To, Subject, Mailbox, or Body text.
