This is an application to help user (mathematician) to make regression between series of data, draw grpahics, and export them into various formats by means of common graphics packages (i.e., gnuplot, plotutils). It is written in Python. The user interfeace is built upon the wxPython (wxWindows) widget set. The idea of usage is as follows: the user builds a project which is represented as a tree of modules; modules can generate data variables, as well as consume them. Essentialy, such a tree represents an algorithm of data analysis. The system is intended to educate students.
The EnRus dictionary tools are TCL/Tk scripts for reading a textual (plain or compressed by gzip or bzip2) dictionary base and compiling new dictionary bases from plain text files. It consists of a few TCL console scripts and a Tk interface to them. It is configurable for different languages. The dictionary base may contain proper formatting and output procedures.
SLIS is a TCP/IP gateway for schools. It provides advanced functions to students and teachers, such as a filtering proxy/cache, email addresses, access control, Web replication, Web mirroring, an intranet Web server with PHP and PostgreSQL, user management, DHCP, remote monitoring of a global set of SLIS servers, live update, etc. All of this is provided by an easy-to-use Web interface. All of the project is in French, but work is in progress to make it international.
SAGU, which is a portuguese acronym for "Sistema Aberto de Gestão Unificada", was originaly designed to automate all of what that happens between a student and their Educational Institution. This relationship happens at the academic, financial and administrative levels, and SAGU has subsystems dedicated to these levels. SAGU can be tailored to fit the needs of any Educational Institution.
Xstereograph is a modeller for 3D single image stereograms (SIS). It uses Fabian Januszewski's stereograph renderer to actually produce the stereograms, and includes a powerful GUI and an internal modeller capable of building polyhedra and 3D bodies such as ellipsoids, tori, trefoil knots, etc. There are many samples and examples in the package.
Weka is a collection of machine learning algorithms for solving real-world data mining problems. It is written in Java and runs on almost any platform. The algorithms can either be applied directly to a dataset or called from your own Java code. Weka is also well-suited for developing new machine learning schemes. The development version contains a GUI with visualization tools and direct database access.
TINY is a small Linux distribution designed especially for reusing old computers. It has very low demands in terms of hardware capacity, and even a Linux beginner can install it easily. No CD driver is required for installation, even for standalone machines. TINY is GUI capable . As long as your machine can bear it, you can run all available Linux applications on it.
