Ymacs is an extensible AJAX text editor aimed for programmers. It's similar in spirit, features, and key bindings to Emacs: it supports multiple buffers, split frames, dynamic completion, multiple keymaps, and Emacs-like undo queue and kill ring. And of course, Emacs-like key bindings for all of that. It provides syntax highlighting and automatic indentation for a few programming modes, currently JavaScript, XML, CSS, and Lisp. Ymacs is based on the DynarchLIB AJAX toolkit and currently runs on Firefox (support for more browsers is planned). Qute is a text editor with Markdown and TeX support. It offers per-paragraph previews so users can switch between editing the source and viewing a rich text rendering with typeset formulas for each paragraph separately. To make looking at a single text file for hours appealing, Qute offers switchable themes with subtle background images and font effects and includes a couple of great Open Source fonts which are a joy to work with. Qute's user interface is distraction-free and offers a full-screen mode. In this sense, it is similar to such great editors as WriteRoom, Dark Room, and WriteMonkey. As far as the themes are concerned, however, Qute is far more adventurous. Qute reads and writes plain text files using the Markdown markup language for rich text formatting and TeX syntax for formulas. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. While it is possible to edit arbitrary text files with Qute, editing (for example) source code is not what Qute is intended for. Instead, Qute is a tool for writing prose. Qute is built using Web technologies. In particular, it uses Chromeless, Showdown, and MathJax.

Swallowapps provides interactive tools for the design of Web (HTML5) content. You create the visual part of your application using visual tools and get instant feedback while you adjust dimensions, transformation matrices, colors, shadows, gradients, and other styling elements in an intuitive and interactive way. When the time comes for programming, Swallowapps combines the convenience of the commonJS packaging specification (the require() function, package.json, etc.) with an automatic build process. Modify any source module of any package which you use, hit F5 in the browser, and your updated application is reloaded. Swallowapps tools are built with themselves, so as you learn how to use the tools, you also learn how to modify them and make them tightly fit your specific needs.
