HTML::Mason is a full-featured web site development and delivery system. Mason allows web pages and sites to be constructed from shared, reusable building blocks called components. Components contain a mix of Perl and HTML, and can call each other and pass values back and forth like subroutines. Components increase modularity and eliminate repetitive work. HTML::Mason is most powerful when used in conjunction with mod_perl, but can be used in standalone applications as well.
Foswiki is wiki software, supporting the editing of Web pages in an ordinary Web browser by end users. What makes Foswiki special is that it supports the embedding of active and passive macros that enhance the page content (e.g. with global or dynamic information) and allow end-users to build applications that store and process data in a structured manner.
UnixODBC.pm provides Perl programs with a subset of the X/Open ODBC API for use with EasySoft's unixODBC DBMS libraries, as well as a peer to peer API for querying ODBC data sources on networked systems. In addition, it provides peer client and server scripts and configuration files, sample clients that perform ODBC queries on local and networked systems, result set output for RSS feeds, and two multi-host data managers: one that uses Apache and CGI to provide a Web browser interface, and another that uses Perl/Tk.
Sql2xml is a CGI program that lets you request a SQL query and convert it to JSON, CSV, XML or INI through a Web server. Sql2xml supports requests from multiple users and for multiple databases. It is intended for developers who do not have direct access to database servers due to firewalls or other restrictions.
AppWrap is a content management system for enterprises. It is built on a template engine that includes a framework for building SQL tables and allowing users to populate and maintain these tables. Reports using data from these tables can be easily created using another template. It is ideal for quickly Webifying Excel and Word files shared among workgroups and rapidly providing advanced data management and presentation capabilities. It is intended for managing mildly dynamic data without the labor of hand-coding and managing multiple CGI forms and templates, or the expense of CRM systems.
Apache::Session is a persistence framework whose purpose is to provide session management to Web developers. It is designed to work with Apache and mod_perl, but it does not depend on them and will work with any Web server. This module provides a set of classes that give the developer maximum functionality. Session data can be stored in a database, flat files, or shared memory.
The Perl ResourcePool provides a generic way to use connection caching for any kind of resources like Net::LDAP or DBI. It includes a LoadBalancer to spread load across different servers and increase overall performance and availibility of service. The ResourcePool and LoadBalancer are easily extendable to cover your needs.
cgi_buffer is a group of libraries that may be used to improve performance of CGI scripts (and other content generation engines) in some circumstances by applying performance-enhancing HTTP mechanisms that are typically not supported by them. Currently, Perl, Python, and PHP4 are supported. The Python library may also be used as a wrapper around another CGI script.
Eidetic is a middleware library for building database driven applications with Perl and Template::Toolkit. It provides handlers for displaying, editing, searching, and administrating data. It provides an interface-generic way of building db apps allowing Web, command line, or daemon styles of interfaces. It is currently used by several applications, including STP, docsys, and rackview.
