Alma is a software workshop for modeling and analyzing. It reads several sources (languages, models, etc.), helps you design for object-oriented modeling (definition of classes, relations, patterns, etc.), modifies the structure and the code, and outputs new sources, documentation, diagrams, etc. It is designed for object-oriented modeling (definition of classes and relations) and for migrating code in older languages. It meets two needs, offering a simplified software modeling workshop for small projects and making it easier to do rewrites, ports, and encapsulation of non-OO code.

ArgoUML is a pure Java open source UML CASE tool that provides cognitive support for object-oriented design. ArgoUML provides some of the same editing and code generation features of a commercial CASE tool, but it focuses on features that enhance usability and support the cognitive needs of designers. Uses XML file formats: XMI and PGML.

Synopsis is a multi-language source code introspection tool that provides a variety of representations for the parsed code to enable further processing such as documentation extraction, reverse engineering, and source-to-source translation. It provides a framework of C++ and Python APIs to access these representations and allows Processor objects to be defined and composed into processing pipelines, making this framework very flexible and extensible.

XML-Lit is a simple program to perform very basic literate programming with any XML-based markup language. It uses James Clark's Expat XML parser to weave (convert to a form suitable for processing) and tangle (extract the source code from) your XML documents. It has only been tested with DocBook at the moment, but there is no reason why it should not work with any arbitrary XML markup.

EFEU is suitable for handling data cubes, which are especially useful for building data warehouses. It consists of a building system including mkmf (a xmkmf like Makefile generator), esh (a powerful C/C++ interpreter), efeudoc (a document generator with different output formats (LaTeX, HTML, roff, etc.)). EFEU has a huge set of C library core features, including robust memory allocation tools, functions to concatenate and copy strings with memory allocation, buffers for dynamically-growing strings and fields, data structures with reference counters and garbage collection, and file tools that allow you to specify pipes wherever a filename is expected and support automatic implementation of (de)compression filters (gzip) depending on filename extensions. It also includes a high-level interface to files, strings, and anything else you can read from or write to.

Genscreen generates C or C++ code using ncurses library functions for building I/O screens. Screen layouts are designed using any text editor (vi, emacs, etc.), then the layout file is run through Genscreen and automatically converted to compilable C/C++ code. Once the basic screen code is generated it can be edited, have additional features added, or be merged with other code. Genscreen also includes automatic date field generation for both US and European date formats, and support for generating money fields.

The KlassModeler is a tool for visually creating and documenting classes. It is not unlike other UML design tools except for four major differences: it focuses only on the class-diagramming aspects of UML and leaves out the use cases, actors, and other things, it generates code, it reads existing C++ header files, and it can create HTML documentation.

CGI::Application::Generator provides a means by which a CGI::Application-based module can be created from code, as opposed to being written by hand. This module is intended to create the shell of an application module, based on the specification you provide. It will not output a completely functional application without additional coding. It will, however, create the structural parts of your application common to all CGI::Application-based modules. This module is intended to ease the creation of new CGI::Application modules and to encourage standardization of CGI::Application coding styles.
