Basilic is a bibliography server for research laboratories. It automates and facilitates the diffusion of research publications over the Internet, automatically generating Web pages from a publication database. Each publication has an associated Web page, which provides downloads and additional documents (abstract, images, BibTeX). Index pages are also created, including a search engine with several options for results display. New publications can be added to the database in an instant.
Nariva is an application which aims to provide cross- platform, open API search functionality targeted at desktops. It uses Apache Lucene to perform the indexing and searching functionality and also exposes the Apache Lucene API as an XML-RPC service (provided using Apache XML- RPC). Files on the local file system are monitored using a sandbox component called Commons Virtual Filesystem (VFS). Nariva ties all these projects together to provide a simple, fast, cross platform, desktop search solution.
Coefficient is a project-based collaboration platform that can be deployed as either a J2EE application or a Web application. It provides basic collaboration tools such as issue tracking, discussion forums, file uploads, news, tasks, and voting as hot deployable modules in a themeable presentation layer. In addition, it provides a workflow engine to help guide projects through their development cycles. All of this functionality is provided through a themeable Web interface.
Garlic is a Web-based personal bookmark manager which does not require a separate SQL server. It provides full text indexing and bookmark categorization. Data is stored in Berkeley DB format, and can be exported to XML. Garlic can build a reading list from RSS feeds, thanks to a companion application called Pesto.
Dowser is a Web research and archiving tool that clusters results from search engines, associates words that appear in previous searches, and keeps a local cache of all the results you click on in a searchable database along with summaries and links to related information. It helps you to keep track of what you find, with no advertising.
nexB OpenAssets is a tool for inventorying, managing, and monitoring applications, software, hardware, networks, and generally any IT asset. It is designed so that system administrators, IT, and finance can determine what they have, how it is configured, what it is used for, and how much it is being used, so that informed decisions can be made. It complements existing network management software, integrates with a growing number of protocols and tools, and features no-agent discovery and inventory, configuration management including dependencies and correlation, monitoring, and reporting. It makes extensive and innovative use of XML, Xpath, and Xquery.
