BibORB is a Web-based tool for managing bibliographies. It allows the sharing of bibliographies and provides an interface for editing references. It also eases the management of electronic versions (.ps, .pdf, etc.) of papers associated with your references. Classification is possible using groups, and search functions are included. BibTeX bibliographies can be imported, and selected references can be exported to BibTeX, Ris, and DocBook format.
DoXFS (pron. docs-eff-ess) is a document management system that uses the XFS filesystem to store both content (files) and meta-data (file attributes), bypassing the traditional architecture of filesystem and database, and leveraging the built-in advantages of XFS. Currently, it offers a Web frontend based on PHP and standard management functionality (create, delete, attributes add/delete, etc.) as well as extras such as versioning and Full Text Indexing (using Namazu).
DROID (Digital Record Object Identification) is a software tool to perform automated batch identification of file formats. It is designed to meet the fundamental requirement of any digital repository to be able to identify the precise format of all stored digital objects, and to link that identification to a central registry of technical information about that format and its dependencies. It uses internal and external signatures to identify and report the specific file format versions of digital files. These signatures are stored in an XML signature file, generated from information recorded in the PRONOM technical registry. New and updated signatures are regularly added to PRONOM, and DROID can be configured to automatically download updated signature files from the PRONOM Web site via Web services.
Trac is an advanced tool for managing software development projects. It provides a simple wiki, an issue tracking system, and tight integration with the Subversion revision control system. However, it's also notorious for being hard to install. With the JumpBox for Trac, it takes about a minute to get trac running. Plus, with the built-in subversion and database backup system and the JumpBox Web-based administration console, it gives you all the basic tools you need to put it into production without ever touching a command line.
PMwiki is a wiki-based system for collaborative creation and maintenance of Web sites. PmWiki pages look and act like normal Web pages, except they have an "Edit" link that makes it easy to modify existing pages and add new pages into the Web site, using basic editing rules. You do not need to know or use any HTML or CSS. Page editing can be left open to the public or restricted to small groups of authors. Running PMwiki as a JumpBox allows you to be up and running with this software in minutes on any operating system. It carries other benefits such as portability across computing environments, a Web-based admin console to simplify administration, and a built-in automated backup system to protect your work.
The metric implemented in the Image::Density Perl Module estimates the density of data where there is data, and has a reasonable correlation with goodness as judged by humans. That is, if you let a human look at a set of images and judge quality, the density values for those images as calculated here tend to correlate well with the human judgement (densities that are too high or too low represent "bad'' images). It is intended for use on bitonal TIFF images, such as those from scanning paper documents.
Maarch is a DMS infrastructure dedicated to the legal archiving of high volumes of static documents. Unlike most DMS tools, it's a toolbox approach that allows one to build highly integrated custom applications. As a proof of concept, Maarch comes with two business applications: Maarch LetterBox for mail management and Maarch PeopleBox for HR document management.
IGSuite is a Web-based groupware collaboration suite. It gives you a "box" of applications that includes wiki, email, documents, calendar, tasks, fax, contacts, notes, links, and more. The power of collaboration comes in when these individual suite components are shared and used within a group. It strives to provide location independence, platform independence, machine independence, and browser independence.
