Getcontrol is a GNOME 2 multimedia frontend. It aims to play DivX, DVD, MP3, Ogg, and Shoutcast streams,and also provide digital photo viewing, video conferencing, etc., all connected with your remote control and running on your TV out. It relies on Gstreamer for multimedia playback.
Garbure is a collection of dedicated distributions. Each distribution provides carefully selected tools for a specific target domain, and is completed with examples and documentation. The set of distributions forms an entity, but each distribution works also on its own. All elements are arranged in the same way for each distribution.
GMediaRender is a UPnP media renderer for POSIX-compliant systems, such as GNU/Linux or UNIX. It implements the server component that provides UPnP controllers a means to render media content (audio, video, and images) from a UPnP media server. Content rendering is done using the GStreamer framework, providing rendering support for the media formats supported by this framework.
Badut is a home theater PC media browser; an audio/video jukebox. It lets you browse your files and play them, with the focus on good LCD/VFD support, pluggable media (e.g. USB), and infrared remote control. How files are played can be configured. Badut comes with a plugin that plays cdrdao audio CD images directly (audio.toc files).
