libptp is a Picture Transfer Protocol support library. It is used for downloading images from PTP cameras. It currently works with most modern cameras from the following vendor: Kodak, HP, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Olympus, Konica, Minolta, Fuji, Ricoh, and Sony. This package also contains "ptpcam", the tool used to tweak camera properties and perform some basic operations.
iOta (Image Organization Tool and Archiver) is a tool to manage, organize, index, archive, and Web-publish your digital photography collection. It is backed by a BerkeleyDB database. The KDE/QT based front-end is designed to be simple, yet powerful. iOta allows the user to generate, uniquely rename, and index images to an embedded database. The user can also caption and describe each image, generate thumbnails and browsable HTML indexes, archive directories of images onto CDR, and search and edit properties of each photograph in the user's collection. In addition, all this information also travels with the image itself in the thumbnail EXIF header.
DigicaMerge is a commandline tool to merge directories of pictures taken with digital cameras. If you've got a digital camera, your hard disk probably contains many directories full of pictures all named with the same names. This utility allows you to merge such directories' contents into a new directory, and renames all the pictures on the fly, ensuring no filename clash will occur. You can define your own naming scheme, using either a set of predefined variables or any recognized Exif tag which may be present in your pictures, and also specify a pattern to select only certain files.
SortImagesGUI is a Java Swing application for sorting still images from digital cameras by capture date from the EXIF header. The images are sorted into subfolders by year, month, and day. Most of the EXIF-metadata are inserted into a MySQL database with the MD5 sum of the image file as a primary key. This makes it easy to find out if an image already exists.
pHoToMoLo is a toolset for managing JPEG images in JFIF or Exif format. Photomolo generates a static HTML 4.01- and CSS 1-based multi-resolution image gallery for a directory tree containing images. Exifiron losslessly compresses and corrects the orientation of Exif JPEG images. Jpegnail removes or embeds thumbnails. Jpegcom lets you edit embedded image comments using any text editor and image viewer. A shell script frontend for Exifiron is included for copying images from removable storage, such as USB or Compact Flash.
Lluzhionne is a very configurable Webcam program that can apply randomly selected captions, dates, and filters to images before uploading them. It comes with a default set of filters that use NetPBM and ImageMagick; others can be easily added. It can upload images using SCP. It supports Casio digital cameras, YUV420P Video4Linux devices, and grabbing images supplied by an external Webcam program. It does not require X11. It has been tested using the Casio QV-10A digital camera and the Phillips (pwc driver) Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000.
