apache-top provides real-time display of the active processes from a remote apache server. It shows: the active apache processes with the associated PID, the status, the active seconds, the CPU usage, the associated VirtualHost, the accessing IP and the request (POST or GET, the file being accessed, and the used protocol); the server uptime and the time it was last restarted; CPU usage; requests per second, Kb per second, and the average Kb per request; the number of active and inactive processes; and a graph with the inactive and active processes and their status.
Alerttail monitors a given file and executes a list of actions when a user-defined text pattern has been written to the file. For example, the user can pop up a GTK notification window when a certain message is written to a log file. Actions can be alerttail built in actions (GTK notify action, geoipLocalization action, or filtering text action) or a custom user defined shell command action. A Qt 4 GUI frontend helps with configuration.
Log watcher is a PHP class that polls log files and takes newly added lines to send them to a given watcher email address. Although this class can be used to poll any type of log files, it was developed with the intention to overcome a limitation of the PHP error trapping system that is not able to capture certain types of errors during script execution, like script parsing errors or form file uploading failures. It is meant to be used from cron-like task schedulers to poll log files regularly. The email notification message can be composed from text templates. The message delivery function can be replaced by custom functions like the urgent mail function that can be faster for delivering critical messages.

iogen is an I/O generator. It forks child processes that each run a mix of reads and writes. The idea is to generate heavily fragmented files to make the hardware suffer as much as possible. This tool has been used to test filesystems, drivers, firmware, and hardware devices. It is by no means meant as a performance measuring tool since it tries to recreate the worst case scenario I/O.
