Sagasu is a GNOME tool to find strings in multiple files. The user specifies the search directory and the set of files to be searched. Double-clicking on a search result launches a user command that can for example load the file in an editor at the appropriate line. The search can optionally ignore CVS directories. Sagasu is a Japanese word that means "to search."
rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal emulator rxvt, modified to store text in Unicode and to use locale-correct input and output. It also supports mixing multiple fonts at the same time, including Xft fonts, real transparency, and an optional embedded Perl interpreter that allows you to extend your terminal easily.
The Enhanced TightVNC Viewer, SSVNC, adds encryption security to VNC connections. The package provides a GUI for Windows, MacOS X, and Unix that automatically starts up an STUNNEL SSL tunnel for SSL or ssh/plink for SSH connections to any VNC server and then launches the VNC Viewer to use the encrypted tunnel. On Unix and MacOS X, a VNC viewer with many new features is provided. The short name for this project is "ssvnc", for SSL/SSH VNC viewer.
Sprog is a graphical tool that anyone can use to build programs by plugging parts together. In Sprog jargon, the parts are known as 'gears' and they are assembled to make a 'machine'. Gears are selected from a palette and dragged onto the Sprog workbench, where they can be connected together. Options can be set using a properties dialog on each gear. When assembly is complete, the machine can be run, reconfigured, or re-run.
Waffle (Waffle's A Fast File Level Explorer) is designed to allow users to browse their files quickly using a Windows Explorer-like interface. It allows you to launch applications by double clicking on files, and each file extension is associated with a different application of your choice. It is has a plugin API for writing extensions.
stdin2news is a simple script that posts imput from STDIN to a news server. It is easily configurable, doesn't require any external programs, and can be used in batch jobs. Unlike rnews it does not require a msgid to be provided, as it presumes it will be generated by the news server.
Vshnu is a visual shell for Linux/Unix finally done right. Best used as an optional color visual mode to a regular command line shell, vshnu is handy for powerful directory listing and navigation, Unix command assembly, special actions on file types, and fileset handling. Written in Perl for portability and high configurability, it also provides the advantages of a Perl interpreter as part of your Unix shell environment.
bluelock.pl is designed to lock a display or terminal once a Bluetooth device (like a cell phone) is out of range. The script queries the RSSI (signal strength) of a Bluetooth device. Once the RSSI passes above a certain threshold a timer is started, and once the timer expires a locking program is run.
