CDDBD.sh is a shellscript speaking the CDDB Protocol version 1 without enhancements and read only. CDDBD.sh allows to query a local database on a filesystem that was filled with entries using such programs like xmcd or kscd. CDDBD.sh was developed to be used in a local or home network and not to serve a WAN.
imaverage uses the viewing frequency and viewing time from a spawned image viewer to build a dynamic database entry for images to gauge their relative preference for a given user. Once the entries have been created, imaverage will continue to show images randomly, with dynamic preference weights. On average, your favorite images should show up most frequently.
C-Cramp (the C-Cramp College Radio Audio Management Program) is a Web-based frontend to MySQL for managing the types of things that small radio stations might need: audio files, data, and "metadata"; DJ and staff information, schedules, live music and program logs, and all sorts of other data. Currently, a cross-platform PHP application is the focus of the project, but more features and types of programs are planned that will hopefully enable easier playback, storage, loading, and entering for all types of applicable data.
jMediaCat is a simple audio file catloging/database application (similar to iTunes Library or Winamp Media Library), programmed entirely in Java. It is meant to make searching through a large collection of digital music fast and straightforward. It will search for MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, M4A, AAC, and MIDI files in a given directory on your computer's hard drive. It will then let you interactively search through the found audio files by typing a search query. The results are instantly shown in a list, and selecting a file in the list will open it in your system's default media player.

With its search engine, you easily find and open music, photos, videos, books, and other data types you determine. Covers of music folders and photo albums can be shown. It has strong random functionality.
The goal of Funani is to solve the management of large image and other media collections in a practical way. To help you find the data you want in big data collections, this software allows you to sort it in many different ways. Advanced queries on dates, locations, events, or people, or more generically categories and tags, allow you to narrow the search quickly. Funani can be thought of primarily as a safe. Every file put into the system remains in the system. It is an additive system, which makes unintended deletion impossible. A maintenance mode can still remove unwanted files, but standard users cannot perform this operation. Funani is also a framework designed for extensibility. When new features are requested, they can be implemented by adding new functionality and leaving the existing system alone. Each feature is completely isolated from others as long as it does not depend on them.
