MUSCLE (Multi User Server Client Linking Environment) is an N-way messaging server and networking API. It includes client-side networking APIs for various languages, including C, C++, C#, Delphi, Java, and Python. MUSCLE lets programs communicate over a network via streams of serialized Message objects. The included server program ("muscled") lets its clients message each other and store information in its server-side hierarchical database. The database supports flexible queries via hierarchical wildcarding, and "live" updates via a subscription mechanism.
The Logfile Navigator, lnav for short, is a curses-based tool for viewing and analyzing log files. The value added by lnav over text viewers or editors is that it takes advantage of any semantic information that can be gleaned from the log file, such as timestamps and log levels. Using this extra semantic information, lnav can do things like interleaving messages from different files, generate histograms of messages over time, and provide hotkeys for navigating through the file. These features are meant to allow the user to quickly and efficiently focus on problems.
mysqlblasy is a Perl script for automating MySQL database backups. It uses "mysqldump" for dumping mysql databases to the files sytem. It was written with automated usage in mind. For example, it is silent during operation, and only produces noise on errors/problems. It rotates backups automatically to prevent the backup disk from getting full when the administrator is on vacation (or is lazy).
Pyrseas provides a framework and utilities to upgrade and maintain a relational database. It currently includes the dbtoyaml utility to create a YAML description of a PostgreSQL database's tables, and the yamltodb utility to generate SQL statements to modify a database to match an input YAML specification. It also aims to develop data administration tools to supplement an agile database development process.
Python bsddb3 is a Python module that provides a nearly complete wrapping of the Oracle/Sleepycat C API for the database environment, database, cursor, sequence, and transaction objects, and each of these is exposed as a Python type in the bsddb3.db module. The database objects can use various access methods: btree, hash, recno, and queue. It has complete support for Berkeley DB distributed transactions, and complete support for the Berkeley DB Replication Manager and base replication API. The goal is to mirror most of the real Berkeley DB API.
pgintcl is a pure Tcl interface to the PostgreSQL database system. It provides an alternative to pgtcl and pgtcl-ng but does not require a compiled Tcl extension (libpgtcl) or PostgreSQL client library (libpq). This allows developers to create Tcl utilities and applications that are platform neutral. Trade-offs are slower performance and PostgreSQL protocol version dependency.

UnQLite is a in-process software library which implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional NoSQL database engine.It is a document store database similar to MongoDB, Redis, CouchDB, etc. as well a standard key/value store similar to BerkeleyDB, LevelDB, etc. It reads and writes directly to ordinary disk files. A complete database with multiple collections is contained in a single disk file. The database file format is cross-platform, and you can freely copy a database between 32-bit and 64-bit systems or between big-endian and little-endian architectures.
