The package also provides a basic protocol transaction class. This class keeps the state of the protocol in an interrupt safe manner, and validates the integrity of the communication as messages are received. In general, you probably will never use this package directly, unless you are writing a driver.

Python bsddb3 is a Python module that provides a nearly complete wrapping of the Oracle/Sleepycat C API for the database environment, database, cursor, sequence, and transaction objects, and each of these is exposed as a Python type in the bsddb3.db module. The database objects can use various access methods: btree, hash, recno, and queue. It has complete support for Berkeley DB distributed transactions, and complete support for the Berkeley DB Replication Manager and base replication API. The goal is to mirror most of the real Berkeley DB API.

bbgun moves phpBB forums to WordPress blogs. bbgun pulls a forum entry from the phpBB database, translates the text (bbCode to strict XHTML), date, and other fields, and pushes the translated entry into the WordPress database. With bbgun, you can move individual posts, move entire threads, move only certain users' posts, map phpBB users to WordPress authors, and specify WordPress categories for the new entries.
