jBASE is an Application Development and Database Independent Management System that enhances and extends the UNIX, Windows NT and Windows '95 Operating Systems. jBASE also facilitates easy migration, and therefore to those Operating Systems, from other DBMS's, including Pick and Reality. jBASE consists of run-time, development and administrative components and is designed with Open Systems and Open Software in mind. jBASE allows the most flexible overall computing environment possible by allowing multiple Operating Systems and multiple Databases to interact together in one overall heterogeneous solution.
XML-DBMS is a set of Java packages for transferring data between XML documents and relational databases. It views the XML document as a tree of objects in which element types are generally viewed as classes and attributes and PCDATA as properties of those classes. It then uses an object-relational mapping to map these objects to the database. An XML-based mapping language is used to define the view and map it to the database.
Lobotomy involves many sub-projects oriented to experimentation about new design for human-computer interaction and, more generally, a new way for home computing. It involves a relational filesystem, a window manager, and many libraries, tools, and daemons to automatically extract and handle metadata.
twz1jdbcForMysql (aka tjFM) is a type 4 JDBC driver for TcX's MySQL database. It has numerous initialization options settable by URL parameter, passed Properties or a properties file (for applications). It can cache query results to memory (default), disk (applications only) or not cache at all at the user's option. It handles insertion (through PreparedStatement) and retrieval of binary objects (blobs) and is delivered with source.
Trivial Persist was developed to provide the quickest and easiest means possible to achieve object persistence in Java. It uses neither XML files nor SQL databases, and it uses normal Java classes for access (such as Set, Comparator, and Iterator) rather than JDBC or a new API. As a result, a new object repository (called a Store) can be created or modified in just a few seconds. It is not designed for huge databases. The disk storage format can be manipulated by simple text processing tools.
DeveelDB is an embedded SQL database management system for .NET, implementing all the features of the SQL92 specifications (transactions, triggers, procedures, functions, etc.). The aim is to provide .NET and Mono developers with a fully functional, powerful, and embeddable database system that can be used in several contexts, managing small to large amounts of data.
