Ganymede is a metadirectory system, primarily intended for UNIX-like environments, but capable of being run with some effort on any server supporting Java 1.1.7 or better. Ganymede supports NIS, DNS, and other network information services, and allows many administrators to work together simultaneously to administer defined subsets of your network directory data. Any system capable of running Java applets with Swing can run the Ganymede client.
GeneWeb is a system for people who want to publish their genealogy data on the Web. It can also be used locally (not connected on the net) as a normal genealogy program. It uses very efficient techniques of relationship and consanguinity computing, speaks several languages, and can run in conjunction with an existing Web server (CGI) or standalone using its own internal server.
GeoServer is a software server that allows users to share and edit geospatial data. Designed for interoperability, it publishes data from any major spatial data source using open standards. GeoServer is the reference implementation of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) standards, as well as a high performance certified compliant Web Map Service (WMS). GeoServer forms a core component of the Geospatial Web.
GetData is a library that provides an API to interface with dirfile databases. The dirfile database format is designed to provide a fast, scalable format for storing and reading binary, synchronously-sampled, time-ordered data. GetData was originally written for the BOOMERanG and BLAST experiments as a data format suitable for use for both quick-look and data reduction. It is now used by many other cosmological and astrophysical experiments including ACT, Planck, Spider, Keck, as well as other projects.
H2 is an SQL database engine written in Java that implements the JDBC API. Embedded, server, and clustering modes are available. A browser based console application is included. The database has strong security features. Disk based and in-memory databases and tables are supported.
HailDB is a relational database in shared library form that can be embedded into applications. It is not a SQL database, although you can use this library as the storage backend for a SQL database. It features a clean and simple API and is a continuation of the Embedded InnoDB project. With the addition of the HailDB plugin to Drizzle, you get a full SQL interface.
