GeoServer is a software server that allows users to share and edit geospatial data. Designed for interoperability, it publishes data from any major spatial data source using open standards. GeoServer is the reference implementation of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) standards, as well as a high performance certified compliant Web Map Service (WMS). GeoServer forms a core component of the Geospatial Web.
Sequoia provides high availability and performance scalability for databases. It is is the continuation of the C-JDBC project. It provides transparent database clustering (partitioning, replication, etc.). It works with any Java application without code modification and with any database engine. It has been successfully tested with Tomcat, JBoss, JOnAS, WebSphere, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Derby, HSQLDB, SAP DB, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Firebird, and more.
ROOT is an OO framework for large-scale scientific data analysis and data mining. It contains an efficient hierarchical OO database, a C++ interpreter, advanced statistical analysis, visualization, introspection, documentation, networking, and GUI classes. The command/scripting language is C++, and large scripts can be compiled and dynamically linked in. Using the PROOF (Parallel ROOT Facility) extension, large databases can be analyzed in parallel. The system runs on all known POSIX platforms, Windows, and MacOS X.
GetData is a library that provides an API to interface with dirfile databases. The dirfile database format is designed to provide a fast, scalable format for storing and reading binary, synchronously-sampled, time-ordered data. GetData was originally written for the BOOMERanG and BLAST experiments as a data format suitable for use for both quick-look and data reduction. It is now used by many other cosmological and astrophysical experiments including ACT, Planck, Spider, Keck, as well as other projects.
The NCBI C++ Toolkit provides portable libraries and applications for assisting genetic science. These include libraries for networking, SQL and BerkeleyDB access, CGI and HTML handling, ASN.1 and XML handling, sequence alignment engines, sequence retrieval engines, BLAST database engines, FLTK and OpenGL graphics toolkits, and basic system utilities.
Berkeley DB XML is a native XML database engine for use within your product. Made available as a C++ library with language bindings for Java, Perl, Python, PHP, and Tcl, it integrates directly into your application (it is not a standalone database server). It provides XQuery access into a database of document containers. XML documents are stored and indexed in their native format using Berkeley DB as the transactional database engine.
