Amberfish is a general purpose text/XML retrieval utility. It features indexing of both free text and nested fields, built-in support for XML documents, structured queries allowing generalized field/tag paths, hierarchical result sets, automatic searching across multiple databases, efficient indexing, and relatively low memory requirements.
Basilic is a bibliography server for research laboratories. It automates and facilitates the diffusion of research publications over the Internet, automatically generating Web pages from a publication database. Each publication has an associated Web page, which provides downloads and additional documents (abstract, images, BibTeX). Index pages are also created, including a search engine with several options for results display. New publications can be added to the database in an instant.
CLIP is a Clipper/XBase compatible compiler with initial support other xBase dialects. It features support for international languages and character sets. It also features OOP, a multiplatform GUI based on GTK/GTKextra, all SIX/Comix features (including hypertext indexing), SQL and ODBC drivers, a C-API for third-party developers, a few wrappers for popular libraries (such as BZIP, GZIP, GD, Crypto, and Fcgi), a multitasking client and application server based on TCP/IP sockets, object data base utilities, and a functions library.
Ciao is a complete Prolog system subsuming ISO-Prolog with a novel modular design which allows both restricting and extending the language. Ciao extensions currently include feature terms (records), higher-order, functions, constraints, objects, persistent predicates, a good base for distributed execution (agents), and concurrency. Libraries also support WWW programming, sockets, and external interfaces (C, Java, TCL/Tk, relational databases, etc.). An Emacs-based environment, a stand-alone compiler, and a toplevel shell are also provided.
