esniff (formerly dbsniff) is a very basic set of tools useful for network traffic analysis and scripting across machines. It consists of three tools: esniff, nwait/npush, and loss_chk/loss_srv. esniff is a packet sniffer based on pcap that does certain things like traffic summaries (not better but hopefully easier than tcpdump). nwait and npush implement the DOS "pause" command working over the network. loss_chk and loss_srv are for checking the loss rate of a line.

StdioTunnel allows you to tunnel arbitrary TCP connections through any shell access connection. If the connection provides a clear 8-bit data path and allows you to start programs, you can use it with StdioTunnel. It tunnels TCP connections in much the same way SSH does, but is useful in particular cases where SSH port forwarding is disabled, and it does not require running or changing the configuration of any server processes on either side of the connection.

libGlass is a scalable set of components that can be used by applications to perform distributed computing. Applications are built by reusing the available components as needed. One of the major goals of Glass is to be a user-friendly framework, not only suitable for new applications, but also for legacy code. This is an important feature, as most available solutions for distributed computing require a substantial amount of rewrite of legacy code.

fpwdman manages a file of passwords that is accessed by one master passphrase. It can import and export password files and makes it possible for encrypted password files to easily be transferred across operating systems. It supports multiple password files, which could be used when a number set of system administrators share a site-wide file of passwords for common tasks, while each maintaining a file of personal passwords. It also exports and imports password files to and from plain text and optionally uses user-generated random entropy. The source includes two command lines tools to encrypt and decrypt: ensbc and desbc.
