OpenCCM (Open CORBA Component Model) is an implementation of the CORBA Component Model (CCM) specification defined by the Object Management Group (OMG). The CCM is the first vendor neutral open standard for distributed component computing, supporting various programming languages, operating systems, networks, CORBA products, and vendors seamlessly. The CCM is the OMG's specification for creating distributed, server-side scalable, component-based, language-neutral, transactional, multi-user, secure applications. One CCM application can be deployed and run on several distributed nodes simultaneously.
QoS Enabled Distributed Objects implements a CCM and adds some more advanced features such as QoS extensions and interoperability with other middleware technologies. Please note that you also need the generator for implementing your own components, and it can be found at the same place.
SDE for NetBeans is a UML modeling environment tightly integrated with NetBeans. It lets you draw all types of UML diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, etc.) in NetBeans, reverse source code (Java, C++, XML, XML Schema, CORBA IDL, etc.) to UML models, and generate Java source from UML diagrams. It features a Rational Rose importer, an XMI importer, HTML/PDF documentation generators, and plug-in and template support.
Lioubliou is a library part of "The Birds Lake" project. It is used to write filter servers. Lioubliou takes cares of filter sessions, registers servers in local database, and abstracts network messages. It supports CORBA via ORBit, but the design of the library can support other communication media later. It also abstracts lsmlib.
Quality Objects (QuO) is a framework for providing quality of service (QoS) in network-centric distributed applications. These applications range from embedded applications to wide area network applications, including many military and commercial applications. QuO bridges the gap between the socket-level QoS being specified, researched, and provided by a number of organizations and the distributed object level where many distributed applications are best written. QuO adds QoS to CORBA and Java RMI in a manner which is appropriate for creating applications that can adapt to environments that are unpredictable or have strict resource constraints.
TIDorb C++ is a CORBA 2.6 ORB with a high level of stability and performance. It fully implements Portable Object Adapter (POA), IIOP protocol (versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2), including bi-directional communications, MIOP protocol (IIOP over udp/multicast), ZIOP (zipped IIOP), SSLIOP (SSL over IIOP), CSIv2, the Dynamic Anys API, DII dynamic invocation interface, and DSI dynamic skeletons APIs, the static invocation API, OBV (object by value passing), and some CORBA messaging QoS policies, and it partially implements RealTime functionalities and Codecs.
