Rumor is a realtime monophonic (with chords) MIDI keyboard to Lilypond converter. It receives MIDI events, quantizes them according to its metronome on the fly, and outputs intelligently handwritten-like corresponding Lilypond notation. Tempo, meter, key and other parameters can be set via commandline options. Rumor can use ALSA/OSS or emulate MIDI input with computer keyboard. It is scriptable with Guile. It has been tested on several major J. S. Bach organ pieces (see links to Mutopia in the documentation).
file2divx3pass is a simple frontend to mencoder for converting any media-file to Divx, with features such as an automatic video bitrate calculator, an automatic bits per pixel calculator, and 1-pass, 2-pass, and 3-pass Divx encoding. It can encode any media file supported by mencoder, such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2, ASF, WMV, OGM, and even RM (buggy) and CUE/BIN. file2divx3pass is also equipped with batch encoding.
Tuxrip is a Linux bash script for ripping and encoding DVD titles in mpeg4 format (DivX, XviD, FFmpeg libavcodec). It features per title or full DVD ripping, audio extraction and encoding, support for multi-audio tracks, 2-pass video compression for a given file size and quality, compressibility testing for optimal quality and resolution determination, support for codec options, audio/video synchronization, CD burning, and automatic computer shutdown. It uses OggVorbis for encoding audio and either FFmpeg libavcodec or XviD as video codecs. It can use Ogg or Matroska containers and supports subtitles in vobsub format. Subtitles are muxed in matroska container and are automatically compressed.
