The JAVE (Java Audio Video Encoder) library is a Java wrapper on the ffmpeg project. Developers can take take advantage of JAVE to transcode audio and video files from one format to another. For example, you can transcode an AVI file to an MPEG one, you can separate and transcode audio and video tracks, and you can resize videos, changing their sizes and proportions. Many other formats, containers, and operations are supported by JAVE.
PHP Video Toolbox is a PHP class that wraps around the FFmpeg, FLVTools2, and Mencoder programs to allow PHP developers to manipulate and convert video files in an easy-to-use object-oriented way. It also currently provides FFmpeg-PHP emulation in pure PHP, so you wouldn't need to compile and install the module. It isn't intended as a FFmpeg-PHP replacement, only an alternative solution. It is recommended that if you make heavy use of the FFmpeg-PHP functionality you should install the module, as it is more efficient.
Python Audio Tools is a collection of audio handling programs that work from the command line. These include programs for CD extraction, track conversion from one audio format to another, track renaming and retagging, track identification, CD burning from tracks, and more. It supports internationalized track filenames and metadata using Unicode. It works with high-definition, multi-channel audio as well as CD-quality. Track conversion uses multiple CPUs or CPU cores if available to greatly speed the transcoding process. Track metadata can be retrieved from MusicBrainz, FreeDB, or compatible servers. Audio formats supported are WAV, FLAC, WavPack, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M4A, Apple Lossless, and more.
libh264bitstream provides a complete set of functions to read and write video streams conforming to the ITU H264 (MPEG4-AVC) video standard. The main design goal is to provide a complete, fully standards-compliant library for reading and writing H264 bitstreams. Reading and writing headers (sequence and picture parameter sets, slice headers, etc.) is fully implemented.
The dvdauthor module allows you to create a structure of menus, titles, and titlesets (including the VMGM menu) in an object-oriented manner. It can cross-reference commands (typically in <pre> and <post> tags in the dvdauthor .xml) with the actual location of a particular video. For example: "jump f:%s" % thismenu.id would be turned into "jump titleset 2 menu 3" if it was added to the second titleset as the third menu. This allows you to build complex interactive DVDs.
GBAconv is a set of tools aimed at GameBoy Advance developers, allowing them to convert WAV sounds and PCX images into C arrays to be included in GBA programs. It is composed of two programs: pcx2gba (exports a PCX 8-bpp image to 16-bit values C arrays: palette and image data (2 pixels per value)) and wav2gba (exports a WAV 8-bit mono sound to an 8-bit signed values array).
