Whiskers is an educational PocketPC application that tries to exploit all the hardware available on most common PDAs providing a link between different features such as GPS-Bluetooth-Wireless. Generally, whiskers was built with radio reconnaissance in mind as help for geocachers or wardrivers, but also as a penetration and audit tool. There is support for in-depth device scanning, triggering actions based on filters when certain devices are in range, centralized GPS logging with search functions for private or public databases, and much more.
GLD-fork is a fork of the GLD program by Salim Gasmi. The fork has been made because the original project has been dead for many years, and some new featured were needed. GLD-fork, as with the original GLD, adds greylisting functionality to the Postfix mail server. Greylisting is a fairly resource friendly anti-spam technique. GLD-fork can easily be combined with other (more resource consuming) tools to build anti-spam protection.
FECpp is a C++ library implementing a fast forward error correction code, sometimes also called an erasure code. These codes are used to split input data into a set of n shares, with the property that if any subset of at least k shares survives, the original data can be recovered by the decoder. The number of share losses the code will tolerate can be parameterized during encoding, allowing the code to be adapted to to a variety of loss scenarios. FECpp is bit-for-bit compatible with several other FEC libraries.
localcast is designed for Mac users who want to be able to resume podcast downloads after an error or unexpected sleep, something that iTunes cannot do by itself. Systems without iTunes can use localcast as an alternative to bashpodder. localcast depends on Mac OS X personal Web sharing and on wget. With localcast, interrupted downloads can be resumed, because wget fetches the podcasts. Podcasts appear fully integrated in iTunes just as if localcast was not in use.
