Amethyst started as a port of Infobot to POE, continuing as a generic bot core with the ability to handle multiple connections using different protocols (not necessarily IRC) and soft route the incoming messages through a number of processing centres. One of these processing centres contains much of the original Infobot core.
WebTools is "system" of multiple modules and libraries. Along with template engine capabilities, it features session management, global variables support, cookies support, and various database interfaces. It also features a pure Perl mail client, categories management, form checking, and libraries such as a CGI-based downloading library, HTML parsers, and a library that makes PHP functions available to Perl for ease of development.
pDonkeyS is Perl implementation of an eDonkey server. The main goal of the server is to provide framework for further eDonkey protocol exploration, but it could be useful in testing of client software, since the server can be configured to output very detailed debugging info about eDonkey traffic.
SwenDeleter tries to identify email messages infected with the Swen worm in POP3 mailboxes and delete them on the server. It applies some heuristics to the headers and size of the messages, in order to avoid downloading the actual email, thus making retrievals less taxing. It has both interactive and nonstop modes.
News::Overview is a Perl object that manages condensed information about Usenet posts in the overview format. It accepts information from an NNTP XOVER command, and allows for basic searching and sorting of the referenced articles. It was designed to be part of several other news modules.
