balmail will email a daily report to your boss (or team leader) satisfying their need to quantify your daily technical acheivements. It can be customised to fit your typical list of one line tasks, and will automatically decide which you have done and how many each day. Care has been taken to ensure that the e-mail does not appear to be automated, by varying the time the mail gets sent, the subject lines and the content each day. A holiday feature ensures mail doesn't get sent whilst you are away.

It captures video from a TV card and renders it into ASCII, formatting the output into an HTML page with a refresh tag or in a live ASCII window or in a simple text file as well, giving anyone that has a bttv card, a Linux box, and a cheap modem line the ability to show a live asciivideo feed that can be browsable without any need for a plugin, Java, etc.
